Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
In short: Social Viewer has no accounts and doesn't store what you look up beyond a 5-minute cache. To show profiles, it contacts Snapchat. If the site shows ads, Google serves them and may use cookies, which you can control.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how Social Viewer at publicsnapchatstoryviewer.com ("the app", "we") handles data when you use it.
2. Data the app collects
The app has no accounts, sign-in, analytics or crash reporting, and we don't keep a record of what you search. The only outside services involved are Snapchat (section 4), Google AdSense (section 5) and our hosting provider.
3. Data the app handles
- Usernames you search: sent from your browser to our server to look up the profile.
- Search results: kept in the server's memory for up to 5 minutes to avoid repeated requests, then discarded. They're never written to disk.
- Server logs: our hosting provider may keep standard request logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested), as with any website.
- Your browser: keeps your normal browsing history, including the page address (for example
?u=username). The app itself doesn't set cookies or use local storage.
4. Data shared with Snapchat
To show a profile, the app requests that account's public page from snapchat.com. Your browser also loads story images and videos directly from Snapchat's media servers. As with any website you visit, Snap Inc. may receive:
- an IP address (yours, or the hosting server's for profile pages)
- your browser type and device details
- the username looked up and the time of the request
Snap Inc.'s handling of that information is covered by the Snap Privacy Policy, not this one.
The app never signs in to Snapchat, so views aren't linked to a Snapchat account and don't appear in an account owner's list of viewers. That doesn't make you anonymous to Snapchat itself.
5. Advertising and cookies
The app shows ads to help cover hosting costs. Those ads are provided by Google AdSense. Pages that display someone's Snapchat profile don't show ads. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you'll be asked for consent before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used.

6. Information about people you look up
The app only displays information an account owner has chosen to make public on their Snapchat Public Profile. It doesn't store that information beyond the 5-minute memory cache, and doesn't build profiles, histories or databases of anyone.
7. Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices
- Clear your browser history to remove past searches from your browser.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Use a VPN if you don't want Snapchat or ad providers to see your IP address.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
